Hey there colonists, Jessica here. My last post didn’t cross post to the book of face, so I wanted to restate some stuff!

I wanted to keep you updated on the progress we’re making for some rules revisions in the off-season. We’re starting with some minor changes and then working up to a few skill path revisions. I’ll post periodically as we make changes, as well as keep a change log for easy reference.

First up! We’ve amended hacking lock-outs. Originally, when a hacker fails a hack the system would shut *everyone* out for 30 minutes. We’re changing this to *per person* for 30 minutes. That way, everyone can attempt a hack. The system AI recognizes the digital signature of the hacker and knows to lock them out.

We’ve actually been doing this for most of the season, but we wanted to make an official change. The rulebook and website have both been updated to reflect this.

Second up! We’ve removed “specialization” as a keyword and mechanic to help streamline things. Skills will still tell you what weapons you can use them with, but now if you have something like Disarm, you don’t need to get it for every weapon group, it will work across the board.
