Non-Player Characters
NPCs, or Non-Player Characters, are equally as important to Colony Alpha as the Player Characters or PCs. NPCs take on roles that help drive the plot for the weekend, present adversaries to the PCs, and perform essential tasks to help the event staff make the game run fun and run smoothly for everyone.
NPC Shifts
All players are required to perform a single three-hour NPC Shift during the weekend. While on your NPC shift your PC is not in the game area and has no knowledge of what happens during that time.
We ask that NPCs report to Logistic promptly at the time of their shift so that there is no break in the flow of the game. Please leave your PC costuming, gear, and items under your bunk or in an out-of-game container. NPCs should wear all black and have a white headband on hand. The game staff will provide all of the costuming you may need as well as brief you on the roles they would like you to play!
You may be assigned a combat role, an rp role, asked to help set up/break down a mod site, or help clean. The game staff will work with you on different roles that work best for you.
Please remember that the game relies on NPCs to make the world feel alive. It is a very important part of the weekend and we are extremely grateful for all of the hard work that NPCs do for the game.
Failure to fulfill an NPC shift will result in the 0 Build for attending the game, no learning of skills between events, and no AAR submission allowed.
NPCing All Weekend
We LOVE when people NPC all weekend for Colony Alpha! NPCing all weekend is free. Also, full-weekend NPCs are given an Event Credit which can be used for:
- $10 off a Wyvern Rising or Colony Alpha event AND +1 Build toward either game
OR
- +2 Build toward either Wyvern Rising or Colony Alpha
NPCing During Feast Prep
If your NPC shift is during feast preparation players may play their PCs for that time, but they may not leave the kitchen/mess hall area, may not participate in combat, and may not use skills.
