Our inaugural Colony Alpha event took place May 13-15 – and it was an unprecedented success! We want to thank every single one of you for attending, and helping to make our premiere event a huge success! In case you were unable to attend, or forgot some of the things we discussed at Closing Ceremonies, here’s a wrap-up for you:
Event Synopsis
New colonists boarded the PCS Dauntless, a government slowboat, bound for the newly discovered and habitable Earth-like planet, LV-34. Eager with anticipation for their new lives, they were put into cryosleep, or coldsleep, for 3,000 years as they traveled several light years to their destination in the Theta Carinae Cluster. Disaster struck, and they crash landed on LV-34 – their luggage and weapons strewn about, and suddenly immersed in an unexpected hostile territory with creatures out for blood. Were they men? Were they animal? The colonists aboard the Dauntless banded together to find shelter, defend each other, and learn what they could about this new land – all while trying to stay alive. They managed to find the pieces to a generator and get it working so they’d have electricity, as well as found some cans of food to sustain them. What adventures and terror lie in wait for them next time? What new colonists may pop up out of the woodwork? Find out in August as we tune in once more to the plight of the colonists on LV-34.

Gameplay considerations
We have an on-going list of considerations we’re making involving revising the rules and game play. If you have a suggestion for an element of game play you think needs work or revising, please leave a comment to let us know what your concern is, and we will be discussing it at our staff meeting.
Feast and Food
Ration Roulette is a permanent substitute for Feast. We encourage our players to bring a Mess Kit into the game for food and drink. We won’t be providing much disposable food ware, and it’s bad for the planet to use that stuff anyway! Keep LV-34 clean! Light and dark protein patties (Chicken patties and hamburgers) will be for sale all weekend during events for $1 each. A food tag system will be implemented so OOG money will not be exchanged. If you want to pay for them using a card, see payment information below.
Money (That’s what I want)
Credit card payments are accepted on-site during event weekends, and ahead of time via the website. In light of the fact that will be implementing a food tag system, you can buy food tags ahead of time using your credit card or cash during check-in, during the event. We will not be accepting credit card transactions for values of less than $5 at any time during the event, so we highly recommend you buy your food tags ahead of time at check-in, as this ensures you will be able buy them in any amount starting at $1.
AAR’s and Character Histories
Please submit your AAR and character history to [email protected] and we will be sure to work it into the overall game!
Medkits, First Aid and Injury Tokens
Anyone who plans to purchase the skill “First Aid” will require a Medkit. And in all of your Medkits, you will need Injury Tokens, as well as bandages, syringes, thread and other RP-related bits and bobs. The Medkits, including Injury Tokens, will not be provided by staff, so you must create these yourselves. These tokens are super easy to create: you just need six cards with locations written on them: Head, Left Arm, Right Arm, Left Leg, Right Leg and Torso.
Other odds and ends
Don’t forget! Bring a friend in August, and get $5 off your event credit! If you buy your $40 event credit ahead of time, we’re happy to reimburse you at the event.
